My family and our animals have been going here for ages. (Probably close to 20 years at least)
They’ve consistently had a friendly atmosphere and caring staff. And they strive to help your fur babies to the best of their ability. I’ll probably always bring my pets here unless we move or something.

You will see my review for the vet I placed directly for him, he did great. I don’t want to leave a bad review for the hospital, since they did a great job too. I just want to note that it was kind of a strange experience. I am not sure if they just went through some issues, maybe layoffs from covid? This place is empty, and at first I thought I might be in the wrong place, since there wasn’t a car to be seen. It was just a vet tech doing reception and the Dr in the back. I can see how it might be tough to get in to see them and there might be complaints about short staff. But they did a great job, and I’d rather give my money to an independent Vet than to a chain group like a lot of the vets popping up.

Porter Animal Hospital has been taking care of my family’s pets since the early 2000s and has never once disappointed. Dr. Elmer and Ryan are not only top notch veterinary professionals but truly wonderful human beings. They are the definition of a small family owned practice and every time I go I remember why I prefer that to the big corporate vets. If you know what goes on behind the scenes at a veterinary hospital, you would know that running it with two people is no easy task. They have been there for us from the adoption of a new puppy all the way to saying goodbye to longtime family members and everything in between. Thank you, PAH for everything you’ve done for our animals!

Dr. Elmer is a very thorough, caring vet. He devotes time to yout pet’s exam, and exudes a quiet calm. Even the most reactive animal will feel the difference in this stress free atmosphere. It is obvious he and his staff care greatly for their patients.
