  • Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory helps us obtain immediate serum chemistries, hematology results, urinalysis, parasite testing, etc. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations (IDEXX Laboratories).

The hospital laboratory provides a multitude of diagnostic blood panels to better evaluate your pet’s health. These include a pre-anesthetic panel to help us ensure safe anesthesia for your pet, a hematology complete blood count (CBC), serum bio-chemistries, and electrolytes. These lab panel results can help identify signs of underlying stress, inflammation, infection, anemia, or other systemic organ dysfunctions (liver, kidneys, pancreas, intestines, etc.).

We are also able to perform many tests at our hospital as they are needed for your pet’s care:

    • Urine tests
    • Skin scrapes
    • Test for viruses (Parvovirus, Feline Leukemia Virus, and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
    • Heartworm test
    • Fecal examinations (testing for hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms)
    • Ear cytology
    • Mass cytology
    • Skin cytology

IDEXX Labratories can provide us with quick results for a wide variety of diseases, including the following types of tests:

    • Bacterial cultures
    • Fungal cultures
    • Thyroid panels
    • Phenobarbital panel
    • Vaccine titers
    • Cytologies
